Essential Information Checklist for RFQ Drawings
- •3D CAD Model: STEP (.step / .stp), IGES (.igs), or SolidWorks (.sldprt) for volume calculation and CNC toolpath assessment.
- •2D Dimensioned Drawing: PDF or DWG/DXF indicating critical dimensions, GD&T tolerances, and datum references.
- •Alloy and Temper: Specify exact alloy (e.g. 6063-T6, 6061-T6) rather than generic "Aluminum".
- •Surface Finish Specification: Indicate coating type (Anodized, Powder Coated, PVDF), target film thickness, RAL color code, and visible decorative faces.
- •Fabrication & Secondary Operations: Detail secondary cutting lengths, CNC hole diameters, thread pitch, and weld symbols.
- •Estimated Order Volume: Specify initial prototype quantity and expected annual batch order volumes.
- •Packaging Requirements: State custom export crate requirements, individual barcoding, or special interleaving needs.
Tip: Clearly mark non-critical dimensions with standard tolerances (e.g. EN 755-9) and reserve tight decimal tolerances (e.g. ±0.05mm) only for critical mating interfaces to minimize production costs.
